ICU Care
Our ICU Care facility at Nagarjuna Hospital is designed to provide round-the-clock critical care for patients with life-threatening conditions. Staffed by experienced intensivists, skilled nurses, and a multidisciplinary medical team, we ensure timely interventions and continuous monitoring for optimal patient outcomes.
Description
At Nagarjuna Hospital, our Intensive Care Units (ICUs) provide advanced, round-the-clock monitoring and treatment for critically ill patients, ensuring the highest standards of safety, precision, and compassion. Staffed by board-certified intensivists, critical care nurses, respiratory therapists, and support specialists, our ICUs are equipped to manage complex medical and surgical emergencies, from severe infections and multi-organ failure to post-operative complications and trauma cases.
Every ICU bed is integrated with advanced life-support systems, real-time cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, and high-flow oxygen delivery. Diagnostic support — including portable X-ray, ultrasound, arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis, and point-of-care testing — is available at the bedside, enabling rapid decision-making without moving critically ill patients. Our ICU teams conduct structured daily rounds, ensuring multidisciplinary input from cardiology, neurology, nephrology, pulmonology, and other specialties when required.
Strict infection-control protocols, negative-pressure isolation rooms, and adherence to international critical care guidelines minimise complications and hospital-acquired infections. Electronic medical records ensure accurate communication between shifts, while standardized care pathways support evidence-based treatment. Families are supported with clear, timely updates, private counselling areas, and guidance from dedicated patient liaisons.
Our ICUs are designed not only for life-saving interventions but also for patient dignity and recovery. Early mobilization, nutrition optimization, psychological support, and seamless transition to step-down units or rehabilitation centres are integral parts of our care philosophy. When discharge planning begins, we coordinate home-based monitoring, follow-up visits, and caregiver training to ensure continuity of care beyond the hospital walls.
